Firefly Lamp

This lamp is powered by a single, three-wick candle. When the inner shade is placed over the flame, it rotates, causing semi-opaque shadows to move over the holes in the outer shade. This creates a rippling, caustic effect, or perhaps something akin to a campfire or fireflies. To see a video, visit this piece’s post on Behance!

The lamp is about 12.5″ tall, with almost twice the circumference. The lid is hinged so to easily open and remove the inner shade to light the candle, while still allowing light to come through when closed. Materials used were limited to paper, wood, and wire, besides the light source.
